MARVEL VS CAPCOM - PUBLICITY VERSION

Please take a picture of the rom board and show it here.

I recall from the early days and region/key hacking that there was also some 'show version' or something that could be a one-byte change? Not sure as Google shows me nothing.

But i'm really curious to see the program ROM labels in the case.
Sorry but its packed and waiting for collection for shipping to @GoldenGlover You need to wait for his move on this when he gets it.

And it on the way :)

Received. Can confirm it is NOT set to free play by default; it came up with an Insert Coin message on my A board.

Opening her up found this:

What’s this little guy 03 program rom doing with a handwritten P?!?

Changed the battery out & the date code on the removed battery was 97-06 (still @ 3.6v!) so it adds to this board’s legitimacy.

Also, the inner plastic bottom & top didn’t appear to have any date codes pressed past September 1997 (this version of MvC was released on 1/12/98 ).

Will test the rest of the game shortly, including the test menus.

Forgot to add that the B board’s game sticker appears to have been put over a Pocket Fighter label. Got to love Capcom’s former reuse of stock…nothing was apparently sacred to them.

Wait. Did Default Reset option on CPS2 needs a combination of buttons to work? Or just one button?. After I sent it to you I was messing around with Star Gladiator 2 and the menu was in English and to perform Default Reset it needs combination of buttons which I didn't noticed on the MVC because it is in Japanese so finally if it needs Start1 + Shot1 to make it work I didn't do it because I pressed only Shot1 and was thinking that it worked XD What a fail. Sorry!
