    Does that programmer short the pinsfor you,I remember having to have a jumper on some pins in the past. But yeah, program chip, remove from programmer, put back on and verify. If just the clock bytes are different, it's holding code and should work. Also, did you confirm you got the right...

    Download the files from the game that are dumped in mame. Inside the zip will be file needed to be programed to the rtc. I can't remember though, some of the konami games can write to the rtc on boot if you hold test or something

    i'd prefer not to, better to share knowledge and have other learn how. you'll also be able to program and test after you get your programmer. i dont mind helping you get it all working

    you can deft expose the terminals for the original battery and connect a battery holder or battery directly to it, then program the chip. I've done it a bunch of times for my own games. just make sure how ever you attach the battery/holder it doesn't physically interfere with the case or board.

    have a picture of the chip that was installed? we can should be able to tell if really non-volatile. where did you get it, if from a "store" front? and if you have a programmer you could read it, but if you had that, i'd assume you would've made your own.

    purchased a machine and it didnt have a cover. Someone thought they knew how to work on games.. bent the case, lost the cover.. have the case back to normal and got machine working.. id like to get a cover to keep it clean
