I can confirm that this device fits nicely into the Jasen CPS3 case and has some space behind the PCB to the metal CPS3 case.
As a precaution and incase the SCSI PCB slips out during movement/transport, I put a few strips of double sided foam tape on the SCSI PCB side facing the back of case...
Out of curiosity, for the cleaning bit, did you scrub the board with the spray that's behind in the pic? If so, did you rinse it off with IPA or something, or wipe it down?
I'd be interested in one if it'll fit in a Jasen CPS3 case and not short out on the rear metal plate - can anyone confirm that this will fit OK in the metal case?
Thanks for the insight and direction, it has been quite useful and I ended up getting the board working! Below is a list of things I tried on the faulty A board and eventually figured out it was a fault cap at CC29:
I checked the schematics and noticed that the M51953B IC had a cap and resistor...
Awesome, thanks for that! I'll give it a crack when I get a change. With your link above, it points to the VS diag BIOS and not the CPS2 generic BIOS. The CPS2 generic diag BIOS is here: https://www.mvs-scans.com/misc/mad-cps2-generic-2025-04-21d.zip
Hi all, I have a CPS2 A board (v4 revision) that worked a few weeks ago, and now when booting produces no video or audio output and I'm trying to debug/fix it so I can use it again. I have this faulty A board and another working A board next to each other and am using a logic probe to test...
Hey all, does anyone know of a good and reliable place that can cut acrylic cases for PCB's? I'm looking to get a few made from this thread (https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/free-custom-acrylic-case-plans-for-pcbs.11049/) and was hoping there was a mob in Australia that could do it
