Seems likely that program code can't run then because of one or more issues with the A to B board connectors. If you de-case both the A and B board you should be able to check continuity from the B board to A board for each of the pins.

The solid color screen usually means that the B board has suicided (battery has run dry). If you have an Infinikey installed you may need to double check that it is installed correctly and that you are using the right settings for it to match your ROMs on the B board.
