    twistedsymphony's adventures in making PCBs.

Cadash has 2x the RAM and 2x the CPU clock speed and also has network link function to link 2 PCBs together. unsure if the network hardware has to be present to boot. there is a version that was released without the link hardware but I don't believe it's been dumped. there are some other minor...

    twistedsymphony's adventures in making PCBs.

So far so good: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSqHhuVpH50 So this is a multi for Taito Asuka hardware. System 16 incorrectly labels this as Bonze Adventure hardware, but Bonze adventure is actually a bit of a different architecture from the rest of the games and is not really...

Naomi Net Dimm 256 mb to 512 mb Upgrade

that wont give you an accurate reading. the voltage will drop from the input connector to DIMM board because of all of the connectors it has to pass-through internally to get there, that's why it's recommended you adjust voltage based on the location where it's being used, not where it enters...

Naomi Net Dimm 256 mb to 512 mb Upgrade

100% of the game data is transferred into the DIMM RAM before the game even attempts to boot. so if you don't have enough RAM then the game wont even load because it can't finish the transfer. your problem is something else. start with checking voltages, you should have a solid 3.3V on the...

    twistedsymphony's adventures in making PCBs.

It requires extra ram and a higher clock speed, both features I included. Hopefully that's all it needs.

    twistedsymphony's adventures in making PCBs.

are you talking about the Taito board? If so yes, but this multi supports 5 games and all 5 games came on this same board. part of the testing will be to see if I can get a 6th game supported that did not come on this board, but we'll see how it goes :)

    twistedsymphony's adventures in making PCBs.

very VERY close but it's not Bonze Adventure. the other board is Metro VG460 ;)

two new prototypes have arrived just in time for the long weekend to finish assembly and test :)

Mk3 to maximum nba hangtime ?

there is no soldering to upgrade the RAM if that's what you're asking. the U57 PLD needs to be changed (which is socketed) and everything else is just a ROM swap assuming you're using the Any U64 patched ROM set.

Irem M92 "no sprites" quick solution!

the pins sticking up on the PCB is a "header" can be called a "jumper header" or "connector header" depending on it's use. the jumper is the small piece that fits over and connects the header pins.

or a Jumper... that's what the J in J3 stands for.

    Naomi 2 outputting 720x480 instead 640x480?

Are you sure your NAOMI isn't in 15KHz mode (480i)? there is a dip switch that allows the unit to essentially switch between 480P and 480i

Mk3 to maximum nba hangtime ?

The first thing is the U64 security PIC. you need one from NBA Hangtime, or you'll need to use an Any U64 ROM set: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/midway-wolf-conversions.3106/ https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/wolf-unit-pcb-any-u64-practical-application.334749/ Those threads...

Taito B System 180VCU blown pins

I'd give that a try, it looks like the Vcc trace is burned up so you'll probably want to jump that pin directly to the cap. after the repair all 3 pins, make sure both Vcc and GND have good continuity and low resistance back to the JAMMA edge pin, and of course no shorts to each other. Might...

Taito B System 180VCU blown pins

looking up schematics (Nastar Warrior Schematics are available and includes this chip). unsurprisingly Pin 18 is Vcc and Pin 19 is GND. Pin 20 is a data pin labeled "/FWE0" and I think it's maybe just collateral damage. I'd suspect that maybe before this blew up these pins were maybe bent and...

Does Anyone Own a Gundhara PCB?

I've been working on this a bit recently. Got to the point where I needed to map out the Kick Connector for Daioh and decided to design a small IO PCB to test and confirm the circuit. Does anyone own an original Daioh who would be willing to check some things with a multimeter for me? If...

Heat Set inserts - anyone using these for their 3D printed parts?

I use them SOMETIMES. in general I try to avoid adding parts to my 3D printed stuff. to me the perfect 3D print is one that is ready to use right out of the machine. However, if you're building something where the screws will be added and removed regularly, or if you want to really torque down...

Namco Cyberlead LED Panel Experimentation and Documentation

if I recall someone on AO a while back claimed that Libero Grande worked as well. I don't believe so, it requires JVS support and Namco Museum is on system ND which doesn't have JVS support. Potential Candidates are System 12, and System 2x6, less likely but still possible would be NAOMI...
