Convert a Konami PC into TX2

As stated above I've had a TPM IC issue with a TTX2 mobo not booting as well - stayed in a POST loop and constantly reset, without anything on the screen. You can easily watch that with a POST diagnostic card. So basically a non-working TPM can cause the TTX2 not to boot at all.

Convert a Konami PC into TX2

I've had some TTX2 mobos here, but none had a populated IDE port nor the TEM100 print on it. (TAITO Type X2 logo instead). Everything else on your picture looks identical at first sight. I've had issues with TTX2 mobos not finishing the POST due to TPM chip issues (see here). Basically the TPM...

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

I think in this step it tries to inititlize the JVS IO. Maybe you have an issue with the JVS controller card, the JVS harness or the IO itself. Do you get an error message with the USB-A-like JVS plug disconnected? Never had your issue though. My next steps would be trial&error like: Checking...

Taito Type X2 MPD Command Failed

Today I could check it with an untouched authentic HDD and USB Dongle. As expected it runs in a Security Validation Error ("System Error Code: 901"), as the missing TPM fingerprint breaks the signature chain for accessing the USB dongle. But that wouldn't have worked either with the broken TPM...

Taito Type X2 MPD Command Failed

After an almost four-months delay I finally received the TPM chips. And ... success!!! The MPD message is gone and TTX2 Multi starting fine ^^ I would be curious if it would start an official HDD, since the replacement chip doesn't contain any custom Taito Signatures. I'd expect the USB dongle...

Taito Type X2 MPD Command Failed

Did you ever get it solved? I'm having the same issue and suspecting a defective TPM Chip. EDIT: The Atmel AT97SC3203 next to the graphics adapter slot should be the IC responsible for TCG / TPM operations. Will try to swap that one out (after removing all the capacitors right next to it to get...

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

Another finding: When I Autostart the TTX2 Multi with Raiden III NesicaX the saved scores aren't loaded. I have to manually start the game from the menu for the scores to load properly. Haven't found any other game with this issue so far.

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

I just realized that when playing Raiden III NesicaX on a horizontal monitor setup (480p Nanao MS-2932) some colours are slightly off, e.g. the water at the beginning of Stage 1 is deep blue instead of the kind of yellow-greenish I have when played vertically. The same with the water background...

    Another TTX2 Motherboard Repair

Hi, I wanted to share an issue with a TTX2 motherboard: Symptom: Random system reboots, sometimes not starting at all. After one day with those issues, the TTX2 won't seem to start anymore at all. Powers on, but nothing more. With a POST diagnostic card, I could see that all Power Supply...

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

Never realized anything like that with the Multi V2, besides the fireworks in TGM3. With the TTX Multi I'd be missing all the great NesicaX games like Crimson Clover and Ikaruga, not even talking about all the great horizontal games I can play on my 2nd TTX2 with my other 31kHz cab.

I don't see any benefit in the TTX Multigame over TTX2. All desirable titles run and look perfect on the TTX2 multi, don't they.

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

Raiden IV NesicaX looks terribly soft on a 480p screen due to resolution interpolation. The TTX version is optimized for 480p and razor sharp. Too bad the exit button combo doesn't work here. I guess the NesicaX Version looks just great on a 720p display.

    A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

Just wanted to share a quick info regarding Raiden IV TTX (not the NesicaX version): The attract mode intro movie had some ugly stuttering with the Pentium 4 651 3,4GHz. I found that it runs perfectly smooth on a Celeron 3.2GHz, so I swapped the CPU accordingly on my Tate cab. The Celeron type...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Thank you for the quick response. After some more testing and verification of the correct value for ypbpr, it seems to be an issue with the Monitor adjustment not with the Mistercade: The colour balance differs with the level of contrast. All the other PCBs I've compared the Mistercade with seem...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Hi, I setup my Mistercade some days ago and installed it in my JAMMA cabinet. I'm really happy with it so far, except for one point: The cutoff level for green is a bit below that for red and blue, so all colours are slightly tinted. You can see it in colour bar test pictures where the dark...
