    Sega System 1 Multi

I think it would. The CPU appears to be a Sega protected 315-5179 which would need to be changed for a regular Z80. Strange thing is that Mame lists that CPU as being for a PPI WBoy6 set rather than PIO which is what your board is. To use my multi you would change CPU for Z80 and remove the...

    Sega System 1 Multi

It would quite likely fit that Pitfall booty you have as the 5011/2 custom replacement is on ribbons and I think the shifter replacement board is clear enough of the Char GFX eproms that the Tile board will fit. The MyHero one though would not easily work. Perhaps you could extend the pins on...

    Sega System 1 Multi

My Sega System 1 multi is finished and proven to work on a wide variety of the System 1 boards. It makes 16 games available with on screen menu selection, DIP settings, High Score saving and Freeplay mode. It does not work on Choplifter PCB's as these are system 2 and technically quite different...

    Irem M82 conversions

I have just updated the Arcade Rom Patcher to V4. It will now create full, socket named, rom sets for the M82 conversions, so in future it will just be a case of loading a single file to burn to each chip. A few people had issues with combining the files, not all burner software makes this very...

Thanks :) The problem you have with the sprites is definitely related to the second half of the eprom, the 32k file. If I only use the first file to fill the first half of the 1Mb eprom I get similar missing/corrupt sprites. PM me your email address.

    Just to confirm the sprite rom layout as it can be a bit confusing at you have a 64k and 32k file to combine into the 1Mb eproms. N0 = "rt_r-00.1h" ($00000-$0FFFF) + "rt_r-01.1j" ($10000-$17FFF) + empty ($18000-$1FFFF) N1 = "rt_r-10.1k" ($00000-$0FFFF) + "rt_r-11.1l" ($10000-$17FFF) + empty...

    Irem m92 no sound

Are they still the original caps around the sound section? If so then it is a good bet that 1 or more of these are bad and certainly some of them can pretty much make the board seem audio dead. I did repair one a few weeks back for a friend though it was quiet and crackly, took 5 caps.

    Irem M82 conversions

Just an update... I have finally released my Arcade Rom Patcher windows program over on the UKVac forum. I would post a copy here as well but want to have just one place to monitor for any problems that may be found. It has all my M82 conversions built in. Arcade Rom Patcher Post

    Irem M82 conversions

The memory would have to be remapped again depending on which game was on the board or a new PAL would have to be created to match the M82 Major Title. But at least all the tile flipping / priority flags are the same I think so much less work. I don't have an M84 board though..... Had some...

    Irem M82 conversions

Well seems I may have done RType with no board mods! The sound cpu NMI was the only thing that caught me out. Only other thing is flipped screen is wrong, not sure why as didn't mod anything that would have directly affected this, will take a closer look if I get a chance. Just need to burn a...

    Irem M82 conversions

Your the second person to mention that to me! Possible but I think the sound hardware is hooked up differently so may not be quite so straight forward for me to do. I should really be checking all the patch info's for mistakes so I can finally release my rom patcher. Just a pain to go through...

FINISHED Another difference between M81 and M82 is that display off is controlled by writing 0x0001 to $E4000 on an M82 whereas on an M81 its 0x08 to port 0x02. So have found where DB was turning off the display to render the screen and patched the code. Game now works perfectly, never realised...

    Irem M82 conversions

Further to my earlier post about still having issues..... The reset one was me being stupid! The board maps the second L/H eproms to the upper address range which is where the cpu starts executing code. So duplicates of the roms will be needed anyway. But after this I still had the gfx glitches...

    Irem M82 conversions

Yes, I had a few occasions when Mames fiddles have caught me out in the past. I have now changed the mapping so that you don't need to double the roms, wasn't too bad in the end only a few places to patch. I removed the ram address line patch from my RType II converted MT then fired up the roms...

Just finished converting Dragon Breed, wish I had seen your post before starting though Hammy as probably could have helped you finish off your work rather than doing my own! Just need to burn the roms and try it on a real board as so far I have just been running it in Mame as Major Title with...

    CPS A-Board Differences

Thats correct B-21 has 0xFFFF at offset 0x32 and B-01 does not have an ID but it doesn't matter as they both use the same register bits & locations. B-03 though has an ID of 0x0003 at offset 0x24, this is some of the data missing from Mame.

    CPS A-Board Differences

I did think about doing it a similar way but after seeing that they just update a block in ram with register changes, then copy them in one place in the interrupt, I came up with a translation routine. Then I thought how it would be easier still to put this in ram and make it dynamically detect...

    CPS A-Board Differences

Possibly, I started out by just patching the code for a specific C board but found there were so many places the Layer Enable Mask bits were set that this became a pain. So I did some more digging and found that the main register updates were done in one block in the interrupt, so I decided to...
