I've managed to get this working on MiSTer and I'm enjoying it very much.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to @ekorz for pulling this off!

To Play on MiSTer I converted the roms to the .neo format and added a line in
/media/fat/games/NeoGeo/romsets.xml

Short guide:

1. Download the file, extract and place in /media/fat/games/NeoGeo/4 Homebrew/19yy.neo
   https://drive.google.com/file/d/19xfHAN54vfF3bF1rTzhcg3OKoegluXmD/view?usp=sharing
2. Edit /media/fat/games/NeoGeo/romsets.xml
   add this line:
   

   <romset name="19yy" pcm="1" ram="2" altname="19YY" publisher="ADK/ekorz" year="2022"/>

3. Reboot your MiSTer and run the game as you would run any other.

FBneo has added Cake Fighter quite recently. HBMAME will support any of these conversions that you do, and FBneo probably will too.

Yes, I can't imagine how to squeeze those translated strings into the available space without hussle.
Of course the machine-translation is more of a suggestion than readily usuable,
but I wanted to show those asking for a translation that these few strings are maybe not worth the effort.
At least they know now what they are missing, or not

It works on real hardware as well, in case anyone else is curious.

I couldn’t use the beautiful artwork provided earlier in the thread because the resolution wasn’t high enough.

Doesn’t save the “record” to the memory card, but then again I have no idea if the original CD did it either.

If anyone wants to test this out, lmk how it behaves! I expect it does save on CD but it only matters to help unlock stuff in the mystery shack. It that’s not true I will look at implementing saves. For all I know there actually is some bonus gameplay locked behind 10000 kills or something, I didn’t disassemble much of the code beyond what was necessary for the port. I did play with those scoring memory locations a little bit and didn’t find anything, but I certainly could have missed something.
