256 TO 246?

hi

im trying to use battle gear 3 and time crisis 3 on my system 256 new old stock boards
which have hdd ace driver 3

i moved the jumper on motherboard to 246
dongle and hdd from battle gear 3
the game laods but then freeze or wont proceed to game play

also time crisis

3 blank

any ideas?

Time Crisis 3 won’t run on the 256, idk about battle gear 3 but I assume it’s the same deal as I’ve only seen them with a 246

Not all games run on the 256 with the 246+ compatibility mode. Time Crisis 3 is one that ISN’T compatible

Some games that won’t work are the early 246 CD based games, Tekken 4, and Time Crisis 3.

The Soul Caliburs will work and some later games after 2004 might work.

bloody roar also doesnt work iirc. soul calibur 2 needs to be in 246 mode or it sounds like alvin and the chipmunks.

Battle Gear 3 works on 246B/C,
Battle Gear 3 Tuned only works on 246C.
it freezes during course loading on 256.

The version of Battle Gear 3 that allows you to enter your name after winning in Time Attack mode hasn't been dumped yet.

namco system256 does not have the ACRAM (32/64mb SDRAM connected to the ATA Controller FPGA)

One of my intentions, eventually, is to try and make an IRX driver that replaces ACRAM driver, keeping the same api, but writing/reading to a file instead of the actual ACRAM.
