Seeing I can't find any FM1608B(28 pin) chips in a dip package, must be "B" version, I have ordered a couple FM1608B-SG chips, but they are SMD. What I am wondering is if there are adapters easily sourced that I can just solder the smd chip onto this adapter making for a dip install. I could find adapters that do this, but the smd chips used are always physically much smaller- I am looking for a 1 to 1 adapter. Is there such a thing?

Thanks for the help, but what I was looking for would be for those interior SMD solder spots on the adapter to be lined up right next to each the through holes. The SMD chip I am using matches up exactly the same as the through hole version so I am placing the SMD chip directly onto the adapter. . . if that makes sense.. . .it's possible there's no such thing. . .

What is the form factor of this SMD chip? I don't think I've ever seen one with a 2.54mm pitch SOP28 which is the left one that channelmaniac posted is the largest standard SMD form factor I know of.

The chip from China I ordered is here:

I would prefer a through hole version, but I just couldn't find one anywhere that were the "B" version. I am working on a conversion, and apparently the non "B" version of this chip will not work. The non "B" versions are everywhere, but the B version are apparently hens teeth it would appear. . .
