2x Nanao MS8-26 : 2 Black screens.

Hi guys.

I have two nanao ms8-26, that I gave to a friend to be recap/repaired.

#1 : strange géométrie and color, so he decided to change all capacitors. Since, no image. Black screen.

• Fuses are OK
• B+ is set to 92V

#2 : lack of contrast + power cut after few minutes.
Same than first one, he has replaced all caps.
First start, everything was OK , than after starting warming up, the green started to desapear , the red was too high (white was pink), and Power cut again. He was able to restart one or two time more, but now, we just ear a big "clac" , and nothing.

• Fuses are OK
• B+ is set to 92V

What should we check ? Any repairlog for this châssis ?

I've had a very similar story with my MS8-26. The chassis was working when I received it, it had some retrace lines and hadn't been recapped. I thought it would be "easy" since this wasn't my first chassis recap.
I was so wrong... It turned into a complete nightmare and I ended up doing more damage than expected. These chassis are extremely prone to breaking traces, solder joints and pads when being manipulated. I learnt it the hard way.

I would start by looking at every capacitor and check for broken pads or solder joints, then broken traces.

Otherwise send it for repair before doing more damage. I think this is the wisest thing to do at this point. (A few people in France do repairs. Check Neo-Arcadia)
