This is easily my smallest print yet...

I picked up a Tekken 3 PCB recently and needed to build a kick harness for it. I wanted a key for the connector to ensure it gets plugged in the right way so I looked at some pics of the official connector and how the key installed and designed my own...

yes, it's printed in pink... that just happened to be the color I had loaded in my printer and I was too lazy to swap it. :D

I still for the life of me can't figure out why they felt it necessary to have a kick harness for those games. Tag I get cause of the fifth button but most Jamma looms have the 4th button wired. So odd. Nice key though!

technically tekken uses buttons 1, 2, 4, and 5 so 4 and 5 are on the kick connector.

on Tag the tag button is button 3, so it's on the JAMMA edge.

I actually really appreciate this setup because it means that it works plug and play with a 6-button panel. so I can swap between Tekken 3 and SFII without problem and the buttons are all in the correct locations. had they mapped one of the kick buttons to button 3 on the JAMMA edge it would require re-wiring the panel whenever I swapped in the Tekken boards.

Very true, I guess in that light it makes sense. But who would EVER convert a SF cab to Tekken? Blasphemy :P

it came with the PCB. The wires attached were really old and shitty and soldered in the wrong pins (no idea why). So I trashed everything but the connector and rebuilt.
