Does this power all the boards at the same time?

It's just that I've heard that some of these switchers have all the boards powered at once, so there's no boot times when switching from one to another. Not sure what kind of PSU you'd need for that.

It's probably better if they're not all powered at the same time. First it's a waste of energy, second it adds operating hours to all the boards.

BTW what's the clearance between the slots? It seems you can only use single boards PCBs for 5 of them.

I think the idea is to get extension cables rather than mounting the boards directly to the switcher.

You can rack it for similar platforms (e.g. All Konami beat-em-ups or all MK), or make something to support the boards if you're handy with woodworking. 2-layer PCBs will fit.

Mike's arcade 2 in 1 switcher has both boards on at the same time.

Ken, does this 6 in 1 have the -5V on all the PCB slots?

The -5v mod seems like quite a job. I'm curious about the ill effects, if any, to wiring all the boards in parallel with -5v. If the board is not "live", would it even draw current?

Looks like something I would struggle to do myself.

On that note, is there any info on how to do a remote test switch from a NAC. Noticed that everytime I change a game on the multi Im having to open up the panel just to reach the test switch on the board or the PSU. Such a pain.

For the settings like free play and difficulty and such.

I also hate clicking my coin button like 10 times and then hearing the coin counter click for the next minute...

you know you can set freeplay with dip #7 on your motherboard right?
And soft dip settings can be changes via the Multi's menu, no need for a test button ;)
