So I received this cocktail cabinet from a friend; it saw a lot of use in the apartment building it was in and eventually failed. Management was going to toss it in the garbage, but said friend rescued it for me and I've been steadily troubleshooting it ever since. I got it up and running with a new power supply, but had an issue where Player 2 always thinks the joystick is being pulled Down. I went ahead and cleaned the Jamma board, fixed some bad connections, replaced all the switches in the joysticks and now just finished replacing the harness (the old harness was butchered, so I thought maybe it could be a problem), but here I am. The board still thinks the Player 2 joystick is always pressed down and aside from replacing the board itself, I'm pretty much out of ideas!

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Remove the board and check continuity with a multimeter between P2 down and GND on the harness edge connector. If you don't have continuity, then it's something in the board itself.

As for the board, you can look up what components P2 down connects to. However, considering how cheap these boards are, I would just replace it with another one.
