i really need a 26 pin tall header from adafruit. its all of 1.75 but with $9.12 shipping its bullshit.

It's because they don't offer any USPS options. UPS and Fed-Ex minimum rates are around $8-$12.

if you've got Prime shipping then it's only $5 there (for 2) but at least that's cheaper than $11

A lot of time Amazon's prices are cheaper than Adafruits too. I recently bought an Adafruit touch screen on Amazon, sold by Adafruit for $10 less than what was listed on their own website.
