Just bought a 1 slot MVS / Jamma NeoGeo for my Astro city. How do I add the 4th button for neo geo? For CPS2 and MK II, i have the kick harness for 6 buttons. What's the best solution?

Thank you

You have really fancy solutions for this like the RECO (https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/sold-reco-pcb-jamma-button-remapping-rapid-fire-device.555/). It's the nicest solution as you just hookup your kick harness to it and you have buttons 1-6 through your jamma harness making it chamma compatible as well. It does a lot more than you need though and currently out of stock.

The easiest solution for just adding the fourth button: split the ground for button 1, wire it to both button 1 and 4. Then for the signal, add a wire to the 12 pin AMP UP (pin 9, see https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/aero-city-control-panel-pinout.16619/) underneath your control panel. It's already wired from there to your jamma harness, so that's all you need. If you want to have the kick harness wired in parallel, you also need a splitter for that, to be able to have both the button 4 via jamma and button 4 via your kick harness.

I would also recommend adding button 4 wiring to your harness, but if you're lazy you can get a JNX atlas adapter from ebay. Get the one with the cps2 kick connector and voltmeter. It will take your CPS2 kick connector inputs and route buttons 4 and 5 to JAMMA (and button 6 if you switch it to CHAMMA mode). It's an easy way to swap quickly between Neo Geo and CPS2, and the voltmeter definitely comes in handy.
