DARKSOFT AES Multi Cart Troubleshooting and help

Thank for your precious help!

'will see the octal buffers.

Just curious about the utility of the Cyclone ? (Pre decrunching encrypted ROM to ram section before soft reseting or decrunching in real time ?)

Amazing job, pcb, really!

The Cyclone? That's the FPGA, that's the brains of the cart. It controls the RAM and is the bus master. It also intercepts all the instructions that we want to analyze to receive commands from the menu or the games. It's doing a LOT of stuff.

OK.
I have a proper clock signal for the FPGA.
I'll check the buffers tomorrow.
Have you made all the job for menu/interface (tiles, titles) and 68K code ?

Found the culprit!

4MB flash (x2 modules) for Prog menu good.
32MB flash (x4 modules) for Tiles/Cha menu good.

Work/decrunching ddr2 module > FAIL
The one below the Cyclone.
And honestly, the owner not being gentle (not my multi), the inevitability of BGAs comes back at a gallop.
Dead join/ball on this 2GB module :sorry:
I'm going to make a shell with extra thickness of bubble wrap :angelic:

Hope i can reflow this little one with what i have.
So much decoupling capa in the era :depressed:

So ultimately my cart wound up going to @Darksoft, and he determined that one of the SPI chips had died and was causing all the issues I had. I'm pleased to report that it's back in my possession and everything works great again. :)
Fired it up today for the first time in a while, and now I'm having a similar issue to what @theangel540 was experiencing. Booting the cart without an SD card shows a white screen, but booting it with a card shows a black screen with a gray gradient at the top. Not sure who's repairing these now but I'd like to get it up and running (again).
