What's new

anyone know anything about this naomi mod

Man, that looks slick.

That’s awesome, far cleaner than my mod. For sure it’s hiding a nest of wires.

Wow that's pretty awesome.

That would also explain who bought up all of the NetDIMMs off ebay rexently.

Yaton listed a bunch this morning if you need one. I got an eBay email about it.

I think he is only charging for the service to do the mod, not actually selling the netdimms, could be wrong since its about $300 for what he is charging there.

I was looking to the same mod. Started searching for CF card slots that would fit. The switch threw me off a bit, I guess its being used to switch the jumper connections?

If anyone is gonna do these, Im down for getting 2 netdimms modded this way.

Nah, I got what I needed off of Derick :)

I was tempted .. but since I got everything working 100% on my NetDIMM setup now I think I am going to skip this one. I am afraid of changing something and then not working right.

I gotta try what you did to see if it solves my Netdimm/Naomi2 issues of not booting AW games.

Meh, as Darksoft himself said... The future of Naomi mods is in replacing that slow/power hungry DIMM unit completely.
Also as pointed out by Mitsurgi-w... I'll bet inside it's a mess of wires and hot glue.

i can figure out all taht but this switch is what interests me most

Ahh, yeah. That is why I deleted my post :). I can't read Japanese.

It's likely a modified PIC that switches between whatever the differences are between the 2 modes.

i.e. Assign a pin as the switch pin.
If pin is grounded, make all of these variables match CF
If pin is not grounded, make these variables match Netboot

You could even go more low tech and have 2 PICs, where the switch simply controls power to each.

There are people here doing way more complex things, so this shouldn't be too terribly difficult to figure out.
