Arcade stool decision

Should I just leave the back rest or cut it and have a makeshift Taito arcade stool ??

Looks like the bottoms aren't centered on the legs. They may be weird to sit at, possibly even tippy, if you cut the backs off.

Don't cut them off, I love arcade stools but really miss the backrest

Backrests are nice, and those are cool because they're really set back, there's nothing to get in the way of your arms, like an angled A frame. I'd totally leave them, put your time and effort into reupholstering them instead.

Yeah, like everyone has said, I'd leave them as well. I would just remove the cushions, reupholster them, and paint the frame with a color that goes with them and your cab. I could see white being a good choice for the frames.

As I understand it, the generally accepted Taito stool "standard" is 43cm for CRT cabs, and 48cm for LCD cabs.
