Astro City Monitor replacement

There’s a light bulb in California, USA that has been continuously on since 1901! It’s not a direct comparison (still, filament in sealed glass) but would agree that CRTs are very robust.
There's not a huge amount to glean from this example. The only real similarities are 'glass-enclosed vacuum' and pretty much everything else that happens in there is different. And every device gets the outlier, the one that lasts forever, and the one guy who says "I didn't have any trouble, are you sure you're using it right?" when 98% of the other users have one that died. ;)

There's not much to glean from this post, either. I'm nitpicking, really.

It is very impressive that bulb has been running for that long. =)

I agree that there are few similarities. I was just making a crazy comparison and I fully expect my CRTs to die well before 1,000,000 hours.
