Hey AP - long story short I've got an Astro City I bought many years ago from KC and it was in the usual condition. I've restored everything else and I'm pretty happy with everything except the monitor.

I've had the chassis serviced twice before at PNL for different failures (one my fault) and even after a lot of adjustment w/ 240p test suite, etc it just doesn't look great to my eyes. Focus and convergence both are not great, and it seems like I can never get vertical adjusted to take up the full tube.

What are my realistic options here? Is this something throwing another chassis at completely might resolve, or is it more likely some kind of tube issue and I'd be looking for a tube swap, or swapping for a new tube/chassis combo all-together?

I'm located in Stillwater OK. Not super pressed about the money, but I know there isn't exactly a glut of MS8's just floating around out there in great shape.

Maybe a video would help? I don't have experience with MS8, but someone here might help you.

Regarding focus, it is more likely than your tube is tired than your focus section on the chassis has a problem. Perhaps a rejuvenation proccess can help with that.

Not able to fill vertical is a chassis problem for sure.
