I asked him but no response about it yet. The shipping to NC may kill it for him its probably bulky to ship....

Grayhound (the bus company) can be used to ship items this size reasonably. I used to use them for car parts all the time. The catch is you have to pickup/drop off at a bus stop. They basically just throw it into the cargo area of their busses as they go through their normal routes.
 
Does Greyhound still offer that service? I'd heard they stopped, but don't know for sure one way or the other.
 
Funny BattleSmurf was just telling me about that service but said he wasnt sure if it was even a thing anymore.
 
FedEx Home Delivery has really great rates for larger/heavier items. Much better than the US Postal Service.
 
Did some googling and confirmed the Greyhound Package Express service ended in September of 2022.

FedEx Ground/Home Delivery is likely the best option for this. But make sure you pack it extremely well, they farm that service out to subcontractors who can and will mishandle your stuff.
