Hello everyone, just quick question...

Since the Blast City with the MS2931 occasionally random shuts down during gameplay (15 min ~ 1 hr...), I’m wondering if I can swap in the MS2933 to try it out.
Is it interchangeable? any adjustment (easy one hopefully) needed?

thanks!

Yes you can, the picture will be too dim though at first. You have to swap out the heater resistor on the chassis. In my notes I have it was resistor 732 and I change it to 1.5 OHM 1 watt fuseable first, then later changed to 2.2ohms cause it was too bright. This was on a 2933 to replace a 2930 but should be the same. I would have a few resistors from 1 to 3 ohms prob to cover the range.

thankyou so much, will give it a try!

You are welcome, if you are just testing if it will work and not shutdown, you can prob ignore the resistor for now and know the dimness is not an issue, just needs a quick resistor change to fix.

In my experience the 2933 was a drop in for the 2931, no heater resistor adjustment required. Fantastic picture and great brightness.

I believe that mod is only needed for 2930 to 2933 swaps, however it may depend on what tube the 2930/2931 was originally paired with.

That could definitely be true, I had a 2931 and 2930 but I think the 2930 was originally installed, thanks for the correction :)

Hello everyone, I’ve swapped in the 2933 chassis, but the horizontal size is still too wide even when set to minimum. Can anyone advise on how to adjust this?
