Blast City Monitor issues

Hi all

I just got a hold of a Blast City and am having some issues with the MS2933 chassis.

It powers on, but for 15khz over jamma, it’s VERY dark. I can barely see the OSD and so far, adjusting the screen knob on the flyback hasn’t done anything.

If i try 31khz, i get a picture, but it’s very smeary and colors are off. Very soon after, it starts to get more clear and bright, then I see raster lines and it shuts off.

Has anyone run into something like this? The chassis has been recapped, not sure what to look at next.

I got around to getting it discharged and right when i took the neck board off, it looks like a wire from the flyback must’ve broken at some point (maybe why the screen knob wasn’t doing anything).

Looks like it connects to G2 on the neck board.

Found this pic of the neck board, confirming that's where that wire goes.

Should probably repair that and try again. Where in Florida are you? If South Florida and you need help with repairs, let me know, glad to help.

Ah thanks! I stripped the wire, desoldered what was still in the hole, and soldered the wire through again. Looks like it's good to go now.
