Years ago, I bought a blast city from KC and, as it was my first cab, I made the mistake of prioritizing the condition of the cabinet over the picture on the monitor.

Now that I have three more cabs and years more experience I can see how bad it looks. I’m looking to buy a decent replacement monitor for pickup or drop off in the Los Angeles area.

Why not fix the one you've got?
I’m not sure how much it can be fixed. The picture was super dim and I had to turn a pot on the back way up to get the brightness even passable. And with the focus dialed in it still looks blurry compared to my other cabs.

I’d love to learn to fix monitors but I don’t know where to start and atm I can’t tell if a recapping would help this one or the tube is just straight upon its last leg.

Well before replacing the whole engine when you may just need an oil change, why don't you send the chassis on out to Sharp?

Best case, all your problems are solved. Worst case you have a backup fully bullet-proofed chassis for whatever tube you replace this one with. Plus, their fee is going to set you back WAY less than an entire new monitor.

Don't look at my signature though, I don't touch MS2930/31 anymore, lol.

I have a BK precision rejuvenator that I picked up and recapped recently that would probably work. I've been meaning to use it on my monitors but Im in the process of a move currently
