Looking for an easy means to use a DB15 controller (Neo Geo etc) with a USB adapter using the Brook 20 pin header standard. Should be simple enough, but thinking someone might have this out there somewhere that I've not found yet...

Jasenscustoms used to make one but doesn't anymore. I'm not aware of one of these that currently exists, but I agree it would be a great thing and I would buy a couple.

This shouldn't be too difficult to do - are you wanting just a straight wiring harness or a small PCB with a DB15 connector on it that can either be soldered or plugged into the 20 pin header on the Brook board?

Yeah, basically wanting to run my controller (Vewlix cabinet I rewired with DB15) to a GP2040 solution so I can do things like run a Megadrive mini. Not a hard thing to wire up, but I'm looking for a clean PCB solution. I'd love something like this...

but the project seems to have never reached a working prototype. So now trying for an add on to a GP2040-CE style of board.

That’s a bit more complex because you’re now not just talking about the DB15 -> Brook 20 pin header

Do you have a diagram/schematic for how you want this wired up?

Are all controls going via the 2040?

Do you have a button or some other control you need to have included since I assume it is for changing button maps or something?

I've given up on the pictured design for now and am going with a GP2040 encoder that has a Brook 20 pin header amongst other connections.

Should be an easy design, but checking if anyone has a solution before I start to prototype.

I think that would be the way to go unless you want to specify which IO pins are connected to the 20 pin header and you can then remove everything else
