Nothing beats the original Bubble Bobble but Memories is a lot closer to Bubble Bobble than for example Symphony is.

I found the backgrounds in BM to blend in too much with the platforms disturbing the gameplay.

As for the gameplay the large bubbles in bubbles trick is fun as well as potion hunting.

On a sidenote BM contains 3 actual titles:

BUBBLE MEMORIES
BUBBLE BOBBLE 3
BUBBLE SYMPHONY TURBO

However unlike other TAITO games it does not change the region with just one byte, there are actually 3 distinct sets all called Bubble Memories.
 
Just converted mine and tried it. WOW, it improves the game tremendously :)

That's great, I always hated Memories' backgrounds but loved the gameplay. Thanks for doing (and sharing) this!
 
Finally managed to play this tonight. Much nice feel to the game, well done.

i know why is not working, because i have the darksoft pack and all files are: flash.XX (xx = number) now the patch is working with a good files names of roms
 
i can't make it. i'm stuck
i'm tryng to apply that patch on cmd on win 7 for 3 (three) days now, and it's simply impossible (i'm a crap in command line)

i take the good files from mame.

the black ms dos windows open ad close so fast.
same into cmd mode, errors and errors...

could someone help me ? for a bubblem ou a bubblemu.

the prog tells me :
Usage: bmbe <path>

what must i type now ?

because i am not using windows - gates can shove his vax and his o.s. :)
 
ok i did it.

after launching cmd in windows i was stuck at (if you put the folder to root of C:\ for example) :
"C:\bmbe_1.0.1\bmbe.exe"

the program always said me :
Usage: bmbe <path>

the .exe was wrong

what must be typed is :
"C:\bmbe_1.0.1\bmbe C:\bmbe_1.0.1"

(with a space after "bmbe, before the red path")

and hit enter

Hello, I tried many times do convert the rom but no matter what I do i do not get the black backgrounds. Is there anyone in here willing to send me the black rom? Any help would be really appreciated !
 
@davidgilmour, can you explain to us what you are doing ? Is anything in the first post unclear ?

Also please post the log from the program.
