Hey,

as I just found out some Sega MPRs on my Rom Board have broken legs. Can I get the mame data for these and program some eproms with it?

Never done this, hence the question! It's Rad Mobile on System 32.

Geez! Thank you for the quick response. It's MPR 13518,13513 and 13512. What Eprom can I use for this?

Is there some sort of compatability chart? I have to clean the other mprs but just in case they are dead too.

And do I need to pinswap or are they 1:1?

There's no chart.

Usually you need to consider:
- pin count
- device memory size
- position of power pins
- data bus width (8/16 bit)

In your specific case the 27C800s are 1:1 compatible with the mask ROMs you want to replace.

ThanksI Apocalypse! I cleaned the rest of the mprs and of course almost all have a few legs that broke during this. Damn rat piss. 🙈

So as it follows:

Mpr13522,13521,13520,13519
Mpr13518,13517,13516,13515
Mpr13514,13513,13512,13511

All of those can be replaced by 27c800?

Okay, I've recapped the board and it turns on but of course there is totally garbled shit on screen with absolutely no sound and I cannot see anything, so I of course also cannot access the test menu.

I tried to read the eproms and not a single one of them was read properly. Either it wasn't able to read at all or it was just reading something weird that wasn't corresponding with the epr from the rad mobile mame set.

While ordering eproms I just realised that the MPR Maskroms where you suggested I should replace them with 27C800 have infact 32 legs. 27C800 has 42. How can they be pin compatible and how am I supposed to fit them? @Apocalypse and anyone else who can help me

EDIT: I see, you were talking about 27c801. Nevermind ;)

Any advice on those? mpr 13522,13521,13520,13519

According to the mame romset they are 512kb in size.

I have a couple of M27C2001 laying around. As I understand they are 256kb, so they won't help.
