Hi everyone, I am a Sega noob, and super happy I found this forum! I recently got 2 Super Mario Kart GP'2, and want to get them running reliably. They do both currently work with issues, with the occasional reset here and there.

I am wanting to do the capacitor kit and fan replacement. I have read about people using axial vs SMD caps. Is there pro's and con's with each? Is there a kit to purchase online for the fans and caps?

I also noticed that it appears that the original power supplies have been replaced on both units. The replacement power supplies do not have pot's for the 3.3 and 5v lines, does anyone have any suggestions on which power supply to purchase? (even if they don't have pots), as they are both running around 4.7V. I have attached a picture of the current PS.

Thank you in advance!

Hi! Someone pointed me in the right direction for a suitable power supply (IMP44-1095), but if anyone could shed some light on the capacitor questions that would be amazing!

You can use THT caps if you wanted to. Personally I would replace with SMD, it just looks cleaner. THT ones are easier to solder though.

I had a ton of issues with my Mario Karts before recapping the bottom boards.

Another decent replacement would be the Mean Well QP-150
