For sale: Capcom Darkstalkers CPS-2 game -- both the A and B boards. USA blue.

This was pulled from a non-working JAMMA cabinet. As I don't have a good working JAMMA rig, I have not been able to fully test. What I can tell you is that I made a JAMMA to RGB harness and tried this board out. The fan spins and I get a black screen. So I removed the battery and installed an InfiniKey. I still get a black screen.

So I'm selling this as-is. Could have a bad A board, or B board, or both, or none. The boards look clean with no obvious damage.

Asking $100 + shipping. Thanks!

Hi all - a friend has a CPS-2 Darkstalkers (US) kit (both A & B boards) that shows only a black screen. So I popped it open, removed the battery, and installed an Infinikey. It still shows a black screen when it powers on. :( The guy wants to sell this game, and seeing that I don't have any other CPS-2 hardware to start debugging, I was wondering if this kit is worth anything in this described state before I post it for sale?

On another note, if anyone has a working CPS-2 kit and is in Seattle and would be amenable to helping me swap boards around and test to see if its a bad A or B (or both) board, that would be super.

Thanks! IMG_4510.jpg

It's hard to determine that since it could be the A board that's bad or the B-Board. Ive seen suicide sets go for 120-150 depending on the game. However since this isn't a suicide situation, I am not really sure. Maybe still 120-150?

can you try isolating the problem? First try running the cps2 a board only without the b board and check. Generally you will see white screen. It could be that your power supply isnt providing correct voltage as well.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot!

The PSU I'm using is brand new and can supply up to 10A on the 5v rail so I think that should be enough. I'll double check voltages on the board while running though.

I should also mention that it could be the JAMMA harness. My cabinet is JVS so I can't hook the CPS-2 directly to it, and I don't have a JAMMA cab or supergun or anything like that. So I purchased a cheap-o JAMMA harness and have wired the RGB+CSYNC into a Commodore 1084S-D monitor (RGB 15kHz horz scan) and am trying to display the CPS-2 through there.

When you power the CPS-2 up, should the analog stereo audio jacks work? Should I be getting any audio out of those? I ask because I'm not hearing anything from them either.

from what I have seen the RCA on the cps2 is line level, so you an amp to check if there is sound or not.

If the plastics on both the A and B boards are good, I'll take this. It still includes the infinity key as well yes?

Received today and super well packed. Thank you so much!

Great seller, would buy from again!

And just so you know, the game and A board both work great, you did a good job with the install! I appreciate it!

Also, reason you didn't hear any sound might have been b/c it was set to stereo out only (not from the JAMMA edge) and set to no attract sound, so unless you could coin up, it would be silent.
