The Capcom I/O :

There are two switches and one button located inside the metal case, behind the JAMMA connector:
  1. Switches between composite and separate H/V syncs. If it is set to "right", composite sync is selected.
So if I am running Naomi 1 with Multi Bios Rev. H , Capcom I/O, Sun Power Supply, Netdimm 4.02 With zero PIC, in a standard jamma cab running at 15 hz.

Should I have the Capcom I/O switch set to composite sync or H/V sync?
 
I seem to remember it being opposite of what I remember being intuitive, but that said, it won't hurt to try it to find out. If it's wrong you'll probably just get a rolling picture.

it depends on what your monitor prefers... that's the whole point of the switch.

most good arcade monitors will work in either mode, so it doesn't matter.

When I used a capcom IO for a PVM that needed csync (pulling video from the JAMMA edge to BNC), I feel like I had to set the capcom IO to H/V. It seemed backwards but it worked great.
 
What do I need the Dip Switches on the filter board set too?

What does each one do?

Also, what do the jumpers on the motherboard do?

The only time I've had to set jumpers on the motherboard itself is on Naomi 2 for the serial port. You should not need to touch them. The dimm board however does need proper jumper settings for netboot, that info is widely available.

For a 15khz monitor you need dip 1 on. Others can be left off. If you're using a multi bios, dip 2 sets USA instead of Japan region.
 
On a side note. Since you will be running a NetDimm and a Capcom I/O. You should know that typically, the NetDimm requires more power than what the Capcom I/O can supply via the JAMMA edge connector. Some users report that they can pull enough power out of the their PSU's through the JAMMA edge to power the NAOMI + NetDimm. But in most cases, it is widely recognized there is not enough power in such a setup.

You might have to power the NAOMI directly off a PSU that can supply 3.3volts along with the standard 5volts and 12volts. I'll get that NetDimm out to you tomorrow.
 
Yep, I just got my Sun power supply!

Anyone know what type of connector is used on the Sun power supply?

The connector to connect it to the wall.
 
what type of cab are you using?

I think Lemony(?) made me a Sun PSU -> Blast adapter so the Blast powers it once it's turned on.
 
he means the input side, not output from the psu
 
I have two of them. Both use different connectors for input. Depends on which cab his PSU came out of.
 
I'm talking about the power input into the Sun Power supply.

I want to make a cord that will plug right into the Sun and then into the wall, bypassing the cab.

Not the greatest pics, but it's this connector on the right.
