Hey I bought a Dodonpachi PCB, it is running, but there are some parts of the graphic with odd resolution and extreme steps and missing details.
I dont think this is normal.
Is there anything to fix it?

on my PCB

This is from You tube, but also the way it looks emulated on my CRT at home.

Thank you and Greetings

Hmm ... could be a small bit of ROM corruption. You'd want to dump them with an EPROM programmer and compare the checksums to MAME.

Hey, thanks for your help. Do you think it may help to burn or reburn the two socketed 27C040-12 Eproms with Sheeps roms, from World of Arcades?

I ordered 27C040-12 eproms and 27C4001 are these compatible? I Dont have enough courage to erase the original roms, so I have to wait. Im not very skilled with Rom burning, I only made a few MVS Uni Bioses for my MVS boards :)
Sadly the seller isent very cooperative, he claims he cant see any graphic problems.
Hope I can fix it with your help here :)
Thank You!

Hey, I read out the roms, saved em as u26.bin and u27.bin zipped them, renamed the Zip file and the game was running perfect in mame without any graphic issues. Dodonpachi im Mame works in combination with the world version, the Jap zip only containt the two Rom bin´s, maybe this is affecting the game too, for not having graphic problems?
Thank you
Alex

U26 and U27 hold the CPU code - I'm not surprised they dumped cleanly since the game likely wouldn't boot at all if they were corrupt. Still good to check for peace of mind though.

You want to look at the three "layer" ROMs - U60, U61, and U62. I'm pretty sure they are 42 pin 27C160 EPROMs.

Sadly these are not socketed, can you de-solder chips safely @TK86079?

Yes Im able to desolder Roms, I reconverted a few Neo Geo Games. the only Problem is, my burner is to small. I have to ask a friend if she can help me to burn them, otherwhise bad luck. Can I use the bin Files from the Mame Rom World version?

Greetings
Alex

In MAME, it looks like the “layer” ROMs are the same between World and Japan regions.

Before you desolder ROMs, you could try hooking up a logic probe and checking the Data pins on the layer ROMs for a stuck or floating pin. I made a tutorial video a few years back where I diagnosed a corrupt sprite ROM that way.

Thank You all, especialy ShootTheCore for your helping me again, so I was able to repair my PCBs! The seller was nice and send me all three chips with the right files on it. I added sockets on all three positions and the bad one was U62. Now it runs perfect as it should.
