Hi

I have a SFII board which ive had a long time but recently i got the board out to have ago and the kicks are not working , ive tried alot of different things but cant get it working , someone mentioned it might be a faulty LS245 , anyway rather than repairing it , is it possible to change it into a differnt game ? say an Aera 88 that dosnt use the kick buttons ?

Everything else works fine with it.

The kick buttons are connected to the PCB via a separate wiring loom which plugs into the white molex connector on the C board (tiny PCB in the first pic) make sure it is plugged in as well as your edge connector.

Are you talking about converting that board to a different game? Any cps-1 game can be converted to any other cps-1 game.

1) you will need the correct C board for the game you are converting to, or a universal C board. Area 88 for instance requires a c board with CPS-b-11 or cps-b-21.
2) you will need to replace all mask and program roms.
3) you will need to replace the B board pal's with those that are correct for the game you are converting to
4) B board jumpers may need to be modified as well, depending on what replacement eeprom's you use for the mask and program roms.
 
That seller isn't really clear on what he's selling. 19.76 only gets you three roms by the looks of it?
Your rom board is suited for some conversions, not all. It doesn't take generic eproms on the top half, and 27c4096 for the bottom half.
Program roms are 27C010 as far as i can tell. Also your C-board sticker covers the ppu type, I'd guess B-17 or B-05
Also you will need a PAL or GAL to go along with the GFX roms.

Hi , yes it's a b17

Does any one on here offer the service of supplying the roms and such needed ?

I already own a converted sfiice to Ghouls n Ghosts, got the roms from arcademodbios about 10yrs ago.

Apocalypse has left the hobby, it’s not worth trying to chase him down. Why not buy a cps1/1.5 multi and have all the games instead?
