Hi all,
I’m chasing some advice on a OutRun 2 SP setup running on Sega Chihiro hardware.
The system will not retain the game assignment settings after a power cycle.
Here’s what I’ve checked so far:
However, the game assignment settings still reset every time power the game is power cycled.
Given that the RTC settings are holding correctly, I’m wondering:
Has anyone seen this behaviour before on a Chihiro? I’d really appreciate any suggestions on where to probe next.
Thanks in advance.
I’m chasing some advice on a OutRun 2 SP setup running on Sega Chihiro hardware.
The system will not retain the game assignment settings after a power cycle.
Here’s what I’ve checked so far:
- The media board battery pack reads 7.5V with power off.
- The onboard CR2032 battery was reading 1.1V, so I’ve replaced it with a new one.
- After replacement, I set the date and time in the main system clock menu and the date/time is retained correctly after power cycling (so I’m assuming the CR2032 is doing its job).
However, the game assignment settings still reset every time power the game is power cycled.
Given that the RTC settings are holding correctly, I’m wondering:
- Are game assignment settings stored somewhere other than where the CR2032 backs up?
- Is there another backup circuit involved?
- Could this be related to the clock capacitor on the Chihiro main board?
- Or possibly an issue on the media board despite the 7.5V reading?
Has anyone seen this behaviour before on a Chihiro? I’d really appreciate any suggestions on where to probe next.
Thanks in advance.
