Howdy!
I have posted in a couple of other forums - getting a maximum tune 3 cabinet ready to go - have a chihiro type 3 I am trying to get up and running so I can actually swing the wheel and see it work!
Here is what I have done thus far:
o Got a Rpi setup for netboot (have done this before on naomi2) - pretty painless - boots game, except for the fact that after about 1-3 minutes it reboots. Did some research, this seems to indicate I need the zero key PIC (even though I have the maximum tune security PIC).
o did some research into booting off CF as well - since in the end this will be a dedicated cabinet, so don't really need a RPI setup.
o Hit up @Mitsurugi-w and got some PIC chips - one for netboot, and one for CF/SSD
o Also got a PCIE IDE adapter (to get the security code off the compact flash card) and ordered a 2GB CF card.
o Got the CF card and was able to get the CF ID via ataid.exe but when i tried to write the image via gcfi.exe it kept complaining that card needed to be 512GB. So - wasn't able to use gcfi.exe. I then got Naomi_CF_patched and it was able to see the card (when on usb reader, not connected to the IDE card) - and it wrote the image. I got the following errors at the end of the write however: "Write Error" and "Error: Security Sector Patch" - but it looked like the ABC.BIN and GAME.BIN were written appropriately on the card.
o When I got the PIC chips - I tried out the Rpi again - but exact same behaviour even with the zero key chip (GPU fan is working fine - if I stay in the test menu, it never reboots, only after getting into the game itself).
o no problem - let's move to the CF (change the jumper) since that is really what I want to use - I fire it up - it takes about 2-3m to load the game and then I get "Error 26 media board is malfunctioning".
What steps do I take next?!
Thanks in advance!
Matt
