Hi guys, I find myself in a situation where I'm missing monitor parts to complete some cabinets and bring them back to good working order. Matching of these parts is a bit of a new topic for me so I have this couple of questions:
Also, about measuring yokes, I've got a MESR-100 (100khz) ESR meter, and a TC-1 "Multi-function Tester". Could they work for measuring yokes inductance? I've seen the "BSIDE ESR02 PRO" recommended for this, it looks similar to the TC-1.
Appreciate your comments!
- Konami Sauroid
- I've got this behemoth cabinet that I would love to make work again, upon opening it, I found it has its original tube Sharp M89KRP31X 35in with a Nanao chassis I could not yet identify, the original chassis (Taxan GNN-37J) is absent. Haven't tried powering it on yet but I doubt it ever worked, do you think it would? I don't want to harm it. I haven't seen a Nanao chassis for more than 29 inches tube, that's why I think it'll be better to find a better fitting chassis, but what to look for besides the original Taxan one, does somebody know about any other brand/model that could fit the M89 (35/37 inches) tube?

- This machine came with an LCD monitor I would like to replace with a proper 29in A68 monitor, and if with 31khz VGA input better. For this I got hold of some nice unused Makvision M2929D monitors, with LG M68QDY259X Dual Focus Tube, they're complete, minus the chassis . Do you know chassis models that could fit it (besides a M2929D)? for example a C2929D seems could fit good, but what about other brands? if I find a 29in chassis with 31khz support and dual focus pins then that means it would work? Other brands/models to look for?
- Also, if a chassis has a single focus pin then it won't work, unless I bring a 2nd focus wire from the flyback if it has any?
- Other cabinets
- I've got an old 2005 TV that came with an LG A68QCU770X 29in tube, flat I believe, I would like to have it as a spare arcade monitor. I was thinking of going with one of those chinese universal arcade chassis, but does this mean I will have to get an "arcade yoke" for it too? (TV is standard 15khz). Any recommendations about other chassis just in case?
- Time Crisis 1
- This cabinet came in a very unfortunate situation, with just an A79GMB22X tube, w/o rings, yoke, or chassis. I'm wondering what could be my chances to find yoke/rings that fit it, and also a chassis (32in?). Could yoke/rings from another A79 monitor be compatible?
Also, about measuring yokes, I've got a MESR-100 (100khz) ESR meter, and a TC-1 "Multi-function Tester". Could they work for measuring yokes inductance? I've seen the "BSIDE ESR02 PRO" recommended for this, it looks similar to the TC-1.
