Hey folks,

Local customer brought me a CPS2 all-in-one to put an infinikey in and I saw it had some crazy graphic corruption with squiggly vertical green lines in it. Using some component cooler, I figured out it was the video amp chip that is NLA. When chilled, the screen returns to normal.

I'm thinking an AD8013 will work as a replacement. Specs are similar enough and the pinout is identical. Will post pics of what the board is doing and if this fixes it after the part comes in. The Analog Devices part is available through Mouser, which is across the DFW metromess from me. :)

I have a game with the same issue. The B board works fine when cold, but after about half an hour, vertical lines appear on the characters. When I gently touch the area between the 16 ROM chips (just touching, not pressing), the problem goes away.

I removed the ROMs from another working B board and replaced them, but the problem remains. It might also be poor contact on the ROM sockets.

NOPE!!! Didn't work. Turns out the video streaks badly to the right.

Having to go to a Chinese seller on eBay to get it. The only other source I found was a chip broker and they usually want a minimum order that makes it not worth it. On the plus side, the Chinese seller has them listed for 99c each so I picked up extras for the next time I see this.

In the meantime, this is what the bad EL2311CS (SOIC-14) triple video amplifier is doing:
