Sorry, wasn't quite sure how best to title this to describe my issue.
I dug out my CPS-III board and carts and put in 2nd Impact which as expected gave me the screen that I needed to write data to the SIMMs (worked perfectly fine, played the game for a while). Swapped to New Generation and again forced to rewrite the SIMMs, no issues again, worked fine. However, now I swapped back to 2nd Impact and get a black screen (CD spinning). If I leave the CD drive empty, I will get the prompt to insert the CD, same if I put a different CD, it'll tell me to put in the 2nd Generation CD, but when I do, it just goes back to the black screen. The SIMMs still have the New Generation data on them, but not sure why I'm not get prompted to rewrite the SIMMs for 2nd Impact.
Any help would be appreciated. Feel like I'm just missing something basic, hopefully not a major issue.
Side note: I did move the SIMMs around, between New Generation and 2nd Impact, as the board is populated with 6 SIMMs (4x 128mb and 2x 64mb) and I wanted to make sure they were all in working order as my Third Strike cart is dead, and was thinking to change the BIOS to UltraBios.
