So I followed the tutorial here: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/cps-1-5-punisher-conversion.25499/ for the "CPS1.5 Punisher Conversion." I did have to purchase different eproms for my mask roms because my Tenchi wo Kurau II B-Board is a JEDEC TYPE which called for 27c4096. The issue I'm having is when I power the game up, I receive a solid black screen. Nothing happend, no ROM errors, no ROM OK just solid black with no noise. I've verified all the chips that were written and they all verify successful. I’m using Infinikey / OpenKey, and I know that isn't the issue because my Tenchi wo Kurau II boots up just fine (and I did remember to change the dip switches for Punisher).
Could someone help me out with this? Sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but is there any special way the eproms need to be written? I've just been taking the mame romsets and writing the needed files as is. Well, with exception to the program roms. I followed twistedsymphony's tutorial on interleaving and concatenating the program roms. For the 2 PAL chips, I downloaded the GAL version of the files from JammaArcade.net and wrote those as is.
