Hi gals and guys,
I wanted to convert à CPS1 Capcom World Quiz that was laying around.

The b-board is a 89625B-1
The c-board is a 92641C-1 (I removed the battery and did the modification by soldering 2 jumper wires)

I couldn't find a track record of a conversion of a 89625B-1 into a Varth, so I found some info in MAME :
varthj (Japan 920714) uses a 88622B-3 (the board looks very similar to the 89625B-1 but different)
Uses VA22B as a GAL in position 1A
Uses LWIO as a GAL in position 12E
varthj and adventure quiz Capcom World 2 use the same number of eeproms
Roms in 40 and 42 need to be changed with desuiced code (I used the ones from Aje_fr)

I didn't find the VA22B.jed for download :(
Do I need a special GAL in 12E ?

Can you help me figure out what went wrong in my process ?

Thanks for your help

Great news. Post a link to my post if you don't mind. That will help others.

Yes, of course :)
Here is your comment :

@Porchy is a user here as well. I believe that if he mentions that it needs a bit of work, that means that has to be converted by someone who knows what is doing. That can be time consuming. First you need to extract the equations doing like this:
jedutil.exe -view SEGA-315-5227a.jed PLS153
Now you need to get your favourite PAL/GAL binary creator and enter those equations in the same exact way and in the same pins, so you get a compatible chip.

My advice would be to buy a couple of PLS153 from one of those Chinese sites where you get them programmed.

Eventually, if you can update your profile with your approx. location, maybe one user close to you can help.
so basically I used the following :
I installed MAME, then in CMD I went to the MAME folder and I executed jedutil.exe as follow : jedutil.exe -convert va22b.1a va22b.jed
Then burn the va22b.jed into a GAL16V8B and place it in 1A position in your PCB.
In the 12E position I kept the LWIO
I wanna thank me meme.jpg

but first of all I wanna thank this gold mine of a forum
