I got an A board that I just got back from someone who installed a CPS2 digital AV. I plugged it in and my psu was for some reason at 5.5v. I noticed it and turned it off immediately it was only powered on for maybe 1 second. I think I fried it, however instead of not getting power at all its fluctuating. I checked voltage, pins 3 and 4 are going from 0 to 0.5v, pin 5 (-5) is going from 0 to -5v and pin 6 is going from 0 to 12v. I've swapped boards and there's no issue with my superguns. I tested another board and the B board that was plugged in when I first tried it works just fine. Is there anything I can do here? Did I fry this or did something possibly break on transit that im not aware of?

Here's a video link showing the issue.

The behavior gives the impression your powersupply is trying to protect itself from a short/over current situation. I would disconnect your supergun from the board then use a multimeter and measure the resistance between ground and the different power rails on the CPS2 A board. See if anything looks suspect.

Im getting 0.00 resistance on both 5v rails and its barely climbing past 1.6 on the 12v rail.

Just confirming thats between GND and 5V rails, then you have a dead short on the CPS2 A board.
We can’t identify where the short is on the pcb because the power supply is shorting to avoid overheating the chips.

Update, turns out the hdmi mod was installed wrong. The 5V and ground was backwards, wish I caught that earlier it would have saved me a headache. Lol

Now there's no audio. Thought the funny looking capacitor was the culprit but after swapping them its the same. Other capacitor works fine on the donor board, now im checking the wires for the CPS2 digital av.

Might as well keep this thread open for another issue rather than make a new one. I got another A board that’s giving me jail bars. Tested it with all 3 of my games and I get the same result. No bent pins nor any noticeable damage on the motherboard. What can I check for this?
