CPS2 Brazil Versions Found – Converting ROMs for Darksoft

Hi everyone,

Over the past 5 years, we’ve been searching for rare CPS2 Brazil-version titles here in our country. During this time, we managed to find 4 important boards:

• armwarb: Armored Warriors (Brazil 941024)
• dstlkb: Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors - Brazil 940818
• ringdestb: Ring of Destruction: Slammasters II (Brazil 940902)
• vsavb: Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire (Brazil 970519)

However, I’m having trouble running these games on my Darksoft - purchased in 2018. Since it’s a first-generation version, could that be the issue? The same ROMs I’ll be posting here seem to work on Darksoft units purchased after 2021.

Am I missing something in the conversion process? If anyone could help me generate these ROMs so they work on earlier Darksoft boards, I would really appreciate it.

I believe they need to be slightly altered for the multi mapping. @Darksoft

Great! I can see the link that you got them already converted for my multi. The games if they have the key file inside the game folder and work on the version after 2021, then they should work 100% on the earlier version. Can you try a different game than these conversions in your old multi and check if other games work?

I believe that they will not work. If they do, then probably the decryption keys are bad, because the rest looks solid.

Yes, all the other games, except the ones I mentioned above, work perfectly. I have all CPS2 region sets on my SD card.

I wasn’t the one who generated these files for the post-2021 multi. Some friends have newer Darksoft versions, and the ROMs work on their setups. However, when I received the files and tried to run them on my unit, I get the pink screen.

So just to clarify: aside from these new Brazil-version ROMs, everything else works fine on my system. I downloaded all my other ROMs from the usual sources back in the day, and they run without any issues.

Can you check any of the games that you load and work and confirm that the content of the file key has some data and it's not full of 0xFF bytes.

I managed to get all the new Brazil dump games running. I just formatted the SD card and put the games back on the card. They all worked. Here are the photos. Thank you all for your support. We are looking for new games that Capcom made for Brazil. Example: Cyberbots (Brazil).

I believe so, the problem was with the SD card. I'll make another card with this FW. Thank you
