I removed the Supercap. Cleaned well everything. Rubbed a bit the solder pads with a little metallic brush and I was able to solder again the Supercap from the solder side. I am not saying the pads are like new now but they hold the solder and the Supercap is pretty stady in position. Also, I think continuity is ok: both poles are gronded and the positive one has continuity with R20.
I didn't get a full win guys and I don't know if it is the Supercap at this point:
In order to get the sound when I turn-on the board after a while that it's been off, I have turn the volume down (completely) and then up.
- Amp output: I get straight the sound just from the left speaker, then, once I turn the volume down and then up, I get the sound from both speakers.
- Jamma output: I get straight no sound, then, once I turn the voulume down and then up, I get the sound from both speakers.
Of course sound keep working regulary if I turn-on the board just after a little while that it's been off and the sound fixed.
I am not a CPS2 expert... maybe the board should be on for hours to get the supercap working well? Is the Supercap the problem?
It is not a big deal, as I can set the sound anytime I boot the board, but it would be nice to fix it once for all.
