My Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Hertiage for the Future (No CD Ver.) isn't showing a Demo/Attract mode outside of the first high score screen. Is there something I'm missing to enable it?

did some testing and I've learned that p1 forward kick button somehow controls how the attract mode plays. If I press the button And hold it down, the attract plays but when I release it, the video stops while the sound keeps playing.
Any ideas?

FIXED:
The forward kick button was set to fire on release which must have been set for factory debugging or something, when I swapped the wire over to fire on press the attract now boots without issue.
