CPS3 - P2 "up" is stuck on

Another one that probably got killed by over voltage. Matt sent it to me, after he tried everything he could. I am mad cause I harvested an IOU from a totally dead parts board and after all the work of removing it and putting it on his board it turned out to be a dud lol. The second IOU I took it from a parts board that boots but I didn't bother to fix since it was cooked by the owner and its all warped with corrosion all over. This IOU from the second board did the trick and no more stuck input. I was telling https://x.com/RCAVictorCo , to make a replacement once he decaps the cps3 customs I sent him. This is the third or fourth time I had to replace a failed one.

@cruzlink2, even though the over voltage was the likely cause, I kinda expect these things to eventually degrade over wear and tear.

Since you're an expert in preserving these endangered species, I'm just curious what your opinion is on the most common parts on a CPS3 to go bad?

And if it would be feasible to make replacement parts for them.
 
As long as you’re feeding these custom chips the right voltage, there’s no reason for them to “go bad”. They aren’t like capacitors that have electrolytic substances that eventually dry up. They don’t expire.

That’s not entirely true. The internal connections can fail or the die itself could fail or be damaged

CPS1 A and C customs are well known to fail sitting on a shelf
