Videogameperfection has been trying for a while now, but the parts are stupid expensive. Making one would probably cost $200 - $300 right now on parts alone.
 
I think the cps2av needs a redesign due to parts shortage. It has been out of stock for a long time.

Most of these HDMI add-on boards use the Altera IV FPGA. These are pretty much impossible to buy now. parts suppliers aren’t even bothering to estimate a lead time any more. The shady Grey-market guys have given up, even the parts recyclers on alibaba have nothing.
My personal opinion is that the era of cheap FPGAs is done. the ChinaUSA chip trade dispute is still going on, until it’s settled I don’t believe supply chains for these parts will free up.
Sorry to be negative, it’s a cool thing and I would love to buy one, or make my own.
