Crossed Sword II - MVS Full CD audio - stage2 (Release)

can you please re-up the .neo version or provide instructions on the process you used for NeoBuilder?

I've not had any success.

C:\Users\gs\Downloads\NeoBuilderUI_1.06>NeoBuilder -n "Crossed Swords 2" -m "pierpa86" -y 2026 -g Action -s 1 -o neo roms\crswd2blpx-v2.zip
NeoBuilder v1.06
Detected reversed half P1

Thanks.

Edit: never mind - I did not realize that was NOT an error.

Can't wait to try it.

Thankyou very much! However, can you re-upload the Idol Mahjong Final Romance 2 also?

Here's a .neo version:

Folks, this is huge. Finally we have a definitive cartridge version of the game (until the original ADK cartridge is discovered). This is a version worthy of having on the shelf -- Only problem is it needs a special PROG board or at least adapters to make a cart. It can also be played on flash carts.

Thank you for your incredible effort, @pierpa86! I don't deserve any credit on this except for a little testing.

Note:

As with all the large V rom hacks, if you play the .neo version on a NeoSD Pro, you have to empty slots 1&2 and write it to slot 1 or empty slots 3&4 and then write it to slot 3. It's too big for one slot or the fast ram slot, so this is a workaround. I don't think it will work on a standard NeoSD.

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad everyone can enjoy it. if an original cassette version exists who knows what the audio is like. I think it's somewhat different from the version we know.
to make a version of this rom on snk hardware cart there is no clean way, you have to use an adapter or 2 layers of 2MB vrom.
I tried both ways, and in the end I kept the version with my ProgBKP card.

Would you sell an unpopulated (or partially populated) ProgBKP to make my own repro? I'd like to upgrade my Razoola version.

I want to express my sincerest thanks and appreciation to @pierpa86 for this amazing port!

And even more appreciation on his other large vrom workaround thread on how to stack eproms with 27c160/29f1615

Thanks to @pierpa86 I was able to create my own copy on the prog board using 8 stacked chips for the VROMs and 1 more for the P rom. The CHA board is straightforward. Played it and it was fun with the proper music

I'm looking forward to building a repro from pierpa's Zintrick port next

Fantastic. I want to do the same. Are you able to share more details and pics of the method you used for the V roms?

I followed Pierpa's instructions at: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/prog-bk1-27c160-bankswitching-32mbit-4mib-workaround.31373/

I split the VROMS in half, lifted pin 11 on all of them, and stacked + soldered them together. For the bottom row, I made a daisy chain to A20. For the top row, I made a separate daisy chain to A20 inverted.

For A20 inverted, I went with an LS04 instead of his cleaner method of using the inverter on the PCM. I didn't want to cut any traces.

Again, credit and thanks again to Pierpa for providing and sharing the solution

Did it fit inside a cartridge shell? Did you have to modify it to fit?

Yes, it can "fit" if you force it closed. There's a slight flex to the board and this was with the thinner 29F1615 instead of the thicker 27C160 EPROM.

I'm considering sanding down the vents or re-doing the top 4 vroms to the underside like Pierpa mentioned
