CRT degausing coil attachment

I have an Operation Thunderbolt cabinet that came with a dead monitor. As luck would have it, I had an old Loewe Calida 5072 4:3 72cm TV in the shed. After removing the plastic shell it was an almost perfect fit for the cabinet.

The only issue is that Thunderbolt mounts the TV horizontally and uses a mirror at 45 degrees to display the image to the player. This was all fine for a while, but over time the degausing coil (at least I assume that's what it is - finger thick heavily insulated loop around the outside of the tube) lost its battle against gravity and the 20+ year old tape holding it in place gave up.

Without this coil, the tube doesn't seem to display a picture at all. Perhaps its smart enough to know the coil is missing and it doesn't pass some boot up test. I have no idea really.

My question is, should I just tape it back on? I suspect its just going to fall off again given the heat of our Australian summers. Is there a better long term solution?
Glue / silicon / or something else entirely?

I’m hoping that the coil didn’t damage the tube when it fell off, it may have dislodged the neck board or something so you should do a thorough inspection before powering on. I wouldn’t think that no coil would leave you without an image, maybe a discolored image.
I’d use zip ties to secure it to the tube, you may have to get creative.
