Darksoft MVS cart not working

Hi there,

This is my first post. I was told to post here for some trouble I’m having with my mvs cart. I purchased it new from high scores and I put the games in the /games folder like instructed. I put the latest update in the /update fowler like instructed.

I have an omega consolized MVS system I’m playing it on. When I put the cart in I get nothing. It just has the bios screen and testing which is typical if no game is in. The cart won’t even be recognized. Even if I take the SD card out.....nothing.

Did I receive a bad cart? High Scores says Dark Soft tests all the carts before they are sent to them. I’m lost and don’t know what to do.

Am I doing something wrong?
 
Mac or PC?
what brand/speed/type sd card? (sdxc/sdhc?)
These roms?
Cmvs works with normal carts?
On boot how long are you leaving it on before you’re turning it off?

Yes I followed the instructions on the roms.
Yes the Omega works just fine with my MVS carts, even a 161-1 works

I turn on the system and it doesn’t even recognize the cart, it just turns to the bios like there is no game inserted
 
Easiest way to confirm it’s the unit is to try it in another MVS if you or a friend has one. Especially with a confirmed working / set-up SD card. Otherwise the radio silence in here may just be because there’s an official help thread here https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/darksoft-neo-multi-help-thread.5055/

post some photos of the directory
structure just to confirm that. When you tried an update did those files get removed from the sd card?

also the file system needs time to set up on first boot which is why I asked how long you let it sit. So I can ask again, how long did you let it sit at the boot/crosshatch?
