Finally got a dream cabinet, Japanese Daytona USA 2 twin and am in need of some parts.

Unfortunately the header was packed so the entire weight was being supported by the fragile acrylic marquee and it has a hole in it. This is specifically the JP/EU/Asia twin marquee and the US one will NOT work--neither will the Deluxe cabinet marquee which looks similar.

Also looking for:
-A nice condition bezel as mine has a bad cigarette burn. Manual says TTR-1067X but I need the one that fits the Toshiba MS9 curvature
-Uncracked yellow Daytona 2 seat backs. DUT-1601

I picked up an ID3-turned-Sega GT cab over the fall & will be looking to sell some of these. Not sure it'd be worth shipping from Canada, but may be able to ship from the US depending on how fast you're looking to get them. Wheel assembly, shifter, seat rail (maybe 2?). Have bezels & an unmarked white/red seat backs too but suspect they'd be damaged from shipping given they're fiberglass/plastic.

I'm not in a hurry, I'll send you a DM. Thanks

Having a shifter but need to test it first. Delivery from Switzerland probably not cheap.

In case you find the full marquee and would part out the broken I would be interested in 1-2 race leader lamps. Maybe you consider a trade?

Bump. Managed to find brand new seat rails for dirt cheap from China that will fit. Local buddy is hooking me up with a good steering assembly for some repair favors. :) Still need marquee!

The cheapo seat rails arrived today and I installed them. Here's a few notes:

  • The paint was flaking off showing some rust already. Definitely been sitting around a crusty warehouse a long time.
  • The rails were low on grease. I added quite a lot and then worked the rails and wiped off the excess and now they slide great.
  • These new rails have an additional few cm of travel compared to stock, so the little rubber protector flaps (if you have them) will stretch at the furthest adjustment. Mine were destroyed anyway so I cut some new ones that were a bit longer, works great.
  • The studs that go into the cabinet base were very close. I used a step bit to open up one of the bolt holes and it fit fine.
  • The studs that go into the actual seat mounting plate were about 6mm off, the measurements listed weren't accurate. I had to drill a new hole in the mounting plate, then since the hole is recessed and now a bit hidden, I used a needle nose pliers to put the washers on and start the nut. I used some bigger pliers to tighten it as much as I could. It's not cranked down, but with threadlocker should be fine.
So not perfect, but my entire order which included two pairs of rails and some other stuff was only a little more than the cost of one single seat rail from anyone else :)

Bumping to say I'm also looking for seat backs in good shape. My seats have the typical cracks at the top (repairable) but more importantly the number decals are baked into the plastic, and they're the wrong numbers so I can't easily cover them with 1 and 2 like I wish. I tried sanding them to see if it's just the top layer that's been discolored but sadly it's pretty deep and seeing the discoloration really bothers me. Fair condition with numbers 1 or 2 would be acceptable.

Bump. The marquee is literally the last part I need. The cabinet is completely back together and in excellent condition now... but no marquee :(

Beauty. I have twin Daytona 1 cabs and was also missing the marquee, eventually found it. Best of luck to you.

Superb cabs these when they're fully working - I restored a Japanese twin a few years ago. The sound thumps out of them if you can get fully working 4 channel amps and speakers. The marquee is the icing on the cake and the pop card is the cherry.. if you can find one!

I was going to say that there is a guy on the Arcade Collectors Europe FB group selling a complete lightbox with marquee, but I'm guessing you are sorted now seeing the last post from djsheep.

Get some pics up of the finished resto - would be interested to see how you did with the seat backs.

Here's where it's at now, about 98% done. Thank you again to @djsheep for helping get the marquee from Australia. It cost an arm and a leg to ship, but it was worth it. We never got these in the US so they're unicorns when they show up--getting this machine is my first time even seeing one in person. I had seen them in magazines as a kid and was obsessed with getting one ever since. The twin is one of the best looking machines Sega ever made imo, even better than the deluxe.

This one was at one point operated at a shopping mall in Seoul called "M-Police", which had an arcade known for buying gray market imports like DDR back in the late 90s. There's not a ton of info on this location but I found some tokens inside and it had a Won insert in the coin door which lead me to finding a few leads online. I bought it from a guy in South Carolina who was clearing out a bowling alley route he purchased from a Korean operator and had him ship it to me.

  • Completely stripped and deep cleaned
  • All floor and seat assembly parts powder coated
  • All new exterior screws all around
  • New polyurethane brake casters for easier transport. Yuei G-75URS same OEM as factory
  • New gray vinyl flooring
  • New seat adjustment rails and protector flaps
  • New seat cushions
  • Rebuilt shifters with new rubbers, switches, bearings
  • Rebuilt pedals
  • Replaced right side steering shaft that was snapped in half. Also replaced wheel.
  • Rebuilt both steering assemblies with new bearings, belts, and oversized rubber stopper to hopefully prevent snapping
  • Ultrasonic cleaned VR panel and installed LED bulbs in buttons
  • Body work and paint to hide seat cracks on top seat tips
  • Replaced all seat decals, seat base decals, VR panel decal
  • Negative G1 sharpness mod on both MS9s
  • New OEM red marquee bulb. I bought 10 because they will no longer be available as of next year and they are the only manufacturer in the world that makes this size in this color.
  • Left side model 3 replaced due to failed video board BGA solder
  • Both drive boards repaired (bad TTLs and a bad ADC)

I do have the battle on the edge topper on the way from a seller in Greece which should really complete the look. I would ideally still like to find a monitor bezel and dash without any burns but they are pretty low priority as I have several large projects I should really be working on instead.
